The Compliance Manager, Wellpath Consultant serves as the facility's subject matter expert on all compliance issues and policies, and develops reports for management regarding the facility's compliance areas. Finally, this position acts on behalf of the facility and organization when compliance audits occur.



  • Bachelor's degree in administration or related field.


  • Three (3) year progressive experience in a Compliance position in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience needs to demonstrate an understanding for the hospital's operations while being able to compare them to organizational, contracting client, and other outside agencies compliance and accreditation policies and guidelines.
  • Experience in accreditation, and quality management highly desirable.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to make presentations to employees at all levels of the facility.
  • Must be able to write cohesive and comprehensive documentation.


  • DHSS licensure and CMS certification knowledge preferred.
  • Healthcare Compliance Officer certification preferred.


The Compliance Manager, Wellpath Consultant coordinates the development and implementation of the hospital's Compliance Program.Reviews and assesses all functional areas within the facility to identify compliance issues.Develops effective instruments to determine departments' compliance.Documents reviews through formalized reports with an assessment of the issues and recommendations for improvement / corrective actions.Provides oversight of key hospital processes that have major impact on Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) licensure, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission (TJC) certifications, Utilization and Billing Practices, DHSS contractual requirements, as well as compliance with HIPAA, ADA, and Social Security Administration regulations.Responsible for managing, reviewing, disseminating, and coordinating the updates of facility's policies in Policy Tech.May also act in the capacity as a Document Control Administrator for other Wellpath Facilities and provides trainings as applicable.Performs facility level operational reviews and audits of all functional areas as required by a published schedule, accurately reporting any findings of noncompliance.Maintains updated knowledge of accreditation and is the subject matter expert on all issues of regulatory standards.Responsible for coordinating surveys and audits from outside agencies, such as DHSS, and preparing and following up on the corrective action plans for any identified issues.Closely works with the Clinical Team to ensure documentation compliance.Closely works with the IT department in coordination of the projects related to the EMR, and other compliance-related issues.Responsible for Independent Contractor Monitoring process, including management of Clinical Affiliation agreements with various schools and universities, while ensuring compliance with WRS Policies and Procedures.Provides an oversight and coordination of processes involving the legal department and patient advocacy, as related to Informed Consents and Guardians/Guardian Advocates, to ensure compliance with statutory requirements of Title 47.Provide monthly training to newly hired staff, contractors and interns, during the New Hire Orientation, on the regulatory requirements of HIPAA.Serves as the facility's liaison to the organization, and/outside agencies to ensure that all regulatory inquiries are responded to in a timely manner.Ensures effective working relationships with the departments throughout the organization, contracting agents and the general public.Provides timely and thorough responses to data/information requests and works with the Wellpath Corporate Team on new ventures, as needed.Performs regulatory mandatory reporting, ex. DHSS, NRI/TJC according to a set schedule as well as follows-up on compliance with reporting to regulatory agencies from other departments/disciplines (ex. Reporting to CDC and DHSS).Communicates potentially illegal, unethical or improper conduct to appropriate organizational resources.Participates on the Wellpath Corporate Compliance Audit team during monitoring of Wellpath facilities, as applicable.May oversee, conduct and/or assist in investigation of complaints alleging non-compliance.Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes Oxley Requirements facility-wide.Adheres to Wellpath Code of Conduct.Maintains knowledge concerning DHSS Division of Healthcare Licensing Certification and other facility licensures, DHSS Contract requirements, and CMS certification and billing practices.Maintains updated knowledge of accreditation and is the subject matter expert on all issues of regulatory standards.Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.Perform other duties as assigned.
